Resolution Research is a well known and trusted market research firm. Resolution Research conducts numerous market research projects for an array of clients throughout the world, covering topics from health to work and leisure. Our clientele operates in industries such as education, manufacturing, health care, law, advertising, transportation, utilities and computer-related services. As a panelist, you will be periodically invited to participate in studies. They have three different type of panels that you can choose:

Consumer Research Panel
Medical Professional Research Panel
Business & IT Research Panel

If you're interested in joining you should also know that registration is simple! You will have to complete a short questionnaire about yourself, this is to help match you with surveys that you will be interested in. Of course all surveys/studies are voluntary and your privacy will be protected. You should also be truthful in each survey/study you participate in to insure they can gather correct data for their research.

You may be interested to know that Resolutin Research does varies types of studies, so if you are looking for more than just online surveys you may have luck with this panel. Below are the types of research they conduct:

Online surveys where a pre-programmed questionnaire is answered entirely online;
Online focus groups or bulletin boards where questions and answers flow in an online discussion that may take an hour or span a two or three day period;
In-person focus groups held at a facility in your city or at an event you’re attending;
Telephone surveys where you answer questions read to you by an interviewer;
A diary or camera journal that records interaction with a particular product or service;
In-home new product tests (e.g., window coverings, salad crispers, electric toothbrushes, etc. – you almost always get to keep the product);
Taste tests where you go to a facility in your city, eat and/or drink and give your opinion;
Product tests (e.g., new acne product, new inline skate brake, new Blackberry, new home thermometer, etc.) – you try the product for a specified period of time and give your opinions (you often get to keep these too);
Website usability, where you log online and report the user-friendliness of the website;
Advertising tests (e.g., hear, read, or watch ads and provide input – some are conducted over the phone, online, or in a focus group setting);
Mock jury (observe the arguments of a case that’s going to trial and give your verdict);
Shadow jury (actually attend a real jury trial in the observer seats at the courthouse and provide feedback daily);
Mystery shopping (e.g., get paid to dine out and rate the food and service; visit a business, buy a product and measure whether the agent did his/her job properly);
Medical or psychological trials/tests (test topics range widely – e.g., memory, exercise, arthritis, diabetics, persons 65+ on heart medication, twins, bi-polar, women with breast cancer, etc., oftentimes held at a local university);
Clinical trials (e.g., generally longer term blind or double-blind studies testing the safety and efficacy of new drugs or devices)
Resolution Research: About: Study Types

Compensation for their studies range from sweepstakes entries to $5-$400 giftcards/cash, free products and more. This all depends on the sponsor and length of the study. They have stated on their website that on average, panelists participant in 3-6 studies a year. The more studies you participate in the greater your reward. You can request payment once you have 45 points which is a $10 Visa Cash Card. There are also a couple other alternatives such as music downloads, donations and a monthly sweepstakes.

From a personal stance on study participation, I would like to think that if you completed surveys/studies for a particular research company that they then may be more inclined to invited you to studies more frequently because of your past participation. I also think being detailed can also set you apart from other participants, whether it is about a new lotion you were sent to test or a movie trailer for an upcoming movie. But remember detailed does not mean exaggerated or dishonest, always try to provide honest answers.

New Nieto Research Studies - Diapers & Tampons

From my personal experience the diaper studies are quite easy, although you are not compensated for it with money you are getting free diapers (usually 22-44 in a pack per study).

If you are currently buying baby diapers this might be a good test for you. Like the majority of our studies we begin the process via email. If you are interested in being part of the study, please respond to this email and include the following:

What size baby diaper do you buy?

What is your baby's current weight?

What brand of diapers do you buy most often?

And last, please include your full name, phone number and best time to reach you.

If you qualify for this particular study you will be sent different diapers to compare. You will use each bag of diapers for approximately one week. You will be required to record each usage which takes less than 30 seconds per change. At the end of each bag you will complete an on-line survey giving your opinions about the diapers.

BuzzBack Upgrades Survey Panel Website

Have you visited BuzzBack lately? If not then you probably aren't aware of the new changes to their website. The picture above on the left is what the new survey panel website looks like and on the right is what the old survey panel website use to look like - what a difference! I think they had been slowly redesigning their survey panel website since their parent website looks very similar to the new layout. The older layout of the did seem very outdated, there wasn't much detail or uniqueness about it other than just being plain.

I hadn't visited BuzzBack in a month or so since I hadn't gotten any survey invitations for that period of time. After checking my email account I received an email from BuzzBack asking me to update my account, this notice appeared in a spiffy new template I hadn't seen from them before. When I followed the link to update my account this is when I discovered their new look. I completed a short survey to update my member info and then I was taken to "my dashboard" where, to my surprise, there was a $2 survey waiting for me!

The "My Rewards" section is one of the changes I do like, simply for the fact that you can keep track of the amount you have earned, the amount available, the amount cashed out, amount pending and more! If you liked getting PayPal payment sent to you every time after you had completed a survey then you may not be so keen on their new payment method. You will now only be able to cash out if you have earned $15 or more, this isn't too bad compared to others that have a $25 minimum. Looking at the rewards section of BuzzBack may remind you of another survey site, SurveyHead, that has a similar rewards section.

There are quite a few ways you can redeem your rewards, you can also choose to donate to a charity as well. Below are the different ways you can redeem your earnings:

Surveys Via Postal Mail & Survey Participation

Do you ever get surveys in the mail? Some of the survey sites I participate in not only send surveys via email but also via postal mail. They usually compensate you with an entry to a sweepstakes, one of them sends me coupons that are relevant with my answers to that survey. So if I filled out a survey that was talking about what cough medicine I use, after I submit that survey I will receive coupons for perhaps Tylenol or NyQuil. They usually arrive within 4-6 weeks, and are high value coupons most of the time.

I usually receive 1-3 postal surveys per month, but some months I may not get any at all. I don't usually mind filling out these surveys unless they are extremely long and tedious. In that case I usually just toss them in my recycling bin. You maybe thinking that doing this might jeopardize my participation on the panel, but in actuality most survey companies state in the FAQ/help section of their website that participation in their surveys is voluntary.

We hope you will want to participate in all survey invitations, but there is no pressure to complete a survey. We may send reminder e-mails in case you have simply forgotten to take a survey. It is up to you if you don't want to take a particular survey; hopefully you will be able to respond to the next invitation.

How frequently do I have to participate?

It is completely up to you! There is no minimum number of times you must participate in our surveys, and you can cancel your membership at any time.

Do I have to take all the surveys you send me?

No. Every survey is absolutely voluntary. If you don't have time or aren't interested, simply delete the e-mail. But remember, the more surveys you take, the more rewards you can earn.

With that being said, there are some survey panels that want your opinion frequently and if you are inactive for too long, usually between 3-6 months, they may mark you as inactive and remove your account. This will vary from survey site to survey site so you will want to check with each one you are a member of if you have a tendency to miss surveys for an extended amount of time.

Do you ever remove members for missing surveys?

We routinely monitor member participation. Members that are identified as "at risk for removal " are notified of this via e-mail. Those who are unable to maintain acceptable participation levels thereafter are removed from the panel.

This doesn't mean that you are a bad survey taker, it may just mean that you are too busy in your everyday life to participate as much as you like. It has happened to me before, I was taking classes and working full-time and just couldn't find time to take every survey that came into my inbox. I did try to take as many as I found time too but consequently I was removed from a panel. I didn't take very many of their surveys and they flagged for being inactive. I never remember reading a notification of my removal, but then again my inbox was pushing over 1000 emails. I figure when I do have enough time to participate more frequently I will register again. It can happen to the best of us!

HCD Research Study Reveals American Idol "Voted Off" Wrong Contestants

HCD Research conducted another study between March 9-11, the main focus of the study was to see who should be eliminated in the next round. Surprisingly American idol "voted off" the wrong contestants accourding to the study. These studies conducted by HCD Research, through MediaCurves, are designed so that each participant/respondent can only answer each survey once. So either American Idols voting methods are off or a lot of respondents changed their minds at the last minute, I'm thinking there might be an unfair advantage to how you can vote through American Idol. Flemington, NJ, March 12, 2010 – A series of national studies conducted among 6,727 American Idol viewers revealed that the contestants who were “voted off” during the show’s elimination last night did not accurately reflect the viewers’ choices.
During last night’s show, Katelyn Epperly, Todrick Hall, Lilly Scott and Alex Lambert were eliminated from the competition. In contrast, viewers participating in the national Idol Democracy study, which employs a “one person, one vote” system, reported that Aaron Kelly, Lacey Brown, Todrick Hall, and Katelyn Epperly were the contestants who should actually have been eliminated from the competition last night.
The Idol Democracy study was conducted during March 9-11, by HCD Research using its mediacurves.com website, to obtain American Idol viewers’ perceptions of which contestants should be eliminated on the March 11 results show. HCD Research is conducting a series of studies among a nationally representative sample of Americans, which parallel American Idol voting to determine the weekly winners based on a democratic, “one person, one vote” methodology.

BzzAgent Has An Agent In Need

If you are a member of BzzAgent then you may already be aware that one of our fellow Agents is in desperate need. On Wednesday morning her house caught fire and see consequently lost everything in the fire. BzzAgent Jono received a direct message from ComicsGirl on Twitter asking if she would be penalized for loosing a BzzAgent kit and not being able to submit a report because everything had been lost in a house fire.

After hearing about this BzzAent Jono set up a PayPal donation account dedicated to help get ComicsGirl back on her feet. The asking donation is $1 but you are welcome to donate more. I couldn't imagine loosing everything that I owned. If you are an Agent please pass this on!

Flemington, NJ, March 10, 2010 – A new national study among 3,859 American Idol viewers revealed that Crystal Bowersox was selected as the contestant who should advance to the next round of the competition based on her performance last night.

I am not sure exactly how I feel about this announcement for the plain fact that I am not sure what they will exactly be implementing. I am defiantly hoping for the better in them being owned by the same company, I really hope that they way we receive rewards is not changed for the worst. I think payment options are a big factor in staying with a survey panel as well as the amount of payment for the participation per survey. Sometimes merging with other survey sites can be a good thing and other times it makes you stray away from them. I remember when Your2Cents merged with Toluna, although it may have been a good change in the companies eyes, I am still not sure if I like it. So changes can be good, bad or sometimes they just linger in the middle of it all.

Fisher Price has a survey panel for mothers to share their opinions - Fisher Price Mom's Know. Fom my knowledge this is a newer survey panel, but I could possibly be wrong about that. Yesterday I joined the panel but no surveys as of yet.

The sign up process took about 10 minutes, it asks you demographic questions as well as general ones having to do with your family, children, parenting techniques, etc. Although you can sign up for the panel they seem to be restricting it to certain groups. If you fit a particular group and their quota for that group is full you will not be able to join. Spaces may fill up fast so I would suggest registering as soon as possible.

Viewpoint Forum Referral Program Still Suspended

Announcement From Greenfield Online

Greenfield Online has announced that they are now a part of the Toluna Group. This change means that the rewards program for Greenfield will also change, in early 2012 they will be switching to a point based system. With this switch you can earn points from surveys as well as non-survey related activities.

After the new system is launched your Greenfield account will become a Toluna Usa account, for now your account will stay the same until this change goes into effect. If you are already a member at Toluna your accounts will be merged together and any remaining funds from your Greenfield account will be converted to points and added to your Toluna account.

If you are worried that PayPal will no longer be an option to cash out, don't worry they will still be offering payments through PayPal and check. In addition to those payment methods they will also offer merchandise, sweepstakes entries as well as charitable donations. Delivery of rewards will take about 4-6 weeks, PayPal rewards will be mailed out on a weekly basis but it may take up to 2 weeks.

Greenfield Online's Technical Difficulties

Over the past month and a half I have noticed that Greenfield Online's surveys have been coming up with the "technical difficulties" page. I hope I am not the only one experiencing this. It's quit annoying especially when a fair paying survey comes into your inbox and when you click the link to take you to the survey, after conforming that you are the person on the survey, but low and behold it says, "Sorry for your inconvenience. We are having technical difficulties. Please check back later.

I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if when you did check back later the survey actually worked, but unfortunately it doesn't. This hasn't happened for just one or even a couple surveys, but for every survey I have tried to take at Greenfield. I even logged in and complete the pre-survey questions and when it tries to transfer me to the survey page, the "technical difficulties" page also appears.

Whether its the site or just me, I think they need to do something about this. I'm gonna take a leap and guess its probably not just me and say they should put their technical team to work.

Has anyone else been getting these errors when trying to complete surveys? If you have been experiencing this, for how long?

The Surveys.com payment is for $5.00 and the Opinion Place payment is in the amount of $1.00. So far my overall total for Surveys.com is $13.00 and Opinion Place is $17.50. I haven't been as active on Opinion Place as I could be, but sometimes you get busy with other things and can't take every survey that comes your way.

SurveySpot Now Pays Via PayPal!

SurveySpot announced that they are now switching to PayPal as their payment processor, checks will no longer be sent out. With the addition to PayPal there will also be changes regarding how incentives are shown, SurveySpot will be switching to a point-based system. Select surveys will be worth points, these points are immediately credited to your account. Once you have reached 1,000 points you can then redeem them for $10 via PayPal.

If you have existing rewards in your account that accrued before November 2nd, you will be able to request a check for the remaining amount. Any rewards that were earned before that date will not be converted into points.

What do you think about SurveySpot replacing checks with PayPal? I personally am pretty excited about the switch, the point system - not so much. I just don't understand why they have to switch to a point-system in order to use PayPal - maybe its simpler? How do you feel about the point system? Does it matter to you?

New Rewards Program From Opinion Outpost

Opinion Outpost introduces a new rewards program featuring Amazon.com gift codes and a Citi prepaid debit card. You will still be able to request a check until the end of the year but they will soon be phasing out checks at the beginning of the new year. You can currently redeem your points via check or Amazon.com gift codes.

I have been a member of Opinion Outpost for a little over three years and had no problem redeeming my points for a check. According to Ojae Barnes, Director of Opinion Outpost, "This process was slow and frustrating for everyone and we feel our new options will be a vast improvement." Although I agree the Amazon gift codes are a good addition, I am not so sure about the Citi prepaid debit card. Some people find prepaid debit cards more of a hassle then helpful. If I were to redeem my points for a Citi prepaid debit card I would make sure I had a substantial amount before doing so, not only because of the fee but also so that it won't be as much of a hassle to use.

What is your opinion of this change? Do you prefer getting paid via check or are you excited about the prepaid debit card? Or maybe you are wondering why move to a prepaid debit card when going through PayPal is faster and safer, I know I've been wondering about that question myself!

Texting While Driving Study

HCD Surveys conducted a study through MediaCurves about Texting While Driving. The participants were shown a PSA from the U.K and where asked to rate the video on effectiveness.

The study showed that 85% of Americans say that the PSA from the U.K. should be aired in the U.S.. They also found that 80% of the participants stated that they would be less likely to type while driving.

I wasn't invited for this study but have watched the video through the MediaCurves wesbite and I have to say it is pretty intense. If you haven't already watch it you should.

ClickIQ Welcomes PayPal

ClickIQ announced that PayPal will soon be their new payment processor, it will replace checks starting August 20th of this year. You will also have the option to send money via ACH which will electronically deposit your earnings into your bank account.

I'm really hoping that ClickIQ will be sending these panel payments free of fees. I say that because of the recent news of TestSpin transferring to using PayPal as well, but their members will be charged a 2.5% fee. Read more about it here.

TestSpin Introduces PayPal

TestSpin finally has PayPal as a payment option. When I logged into my member account at TestSpin today I was excited to find that they are now offering payment via PayPal as well as Amazon.com. I followed the steps to cashing out and noticed that when I wanted to cash out $20 I would only receive $16.40. Least to say I am kinda disappointed that the panelists are charged a 2.5% fee. You would think that since TestSpin is a fairly big survey panel they could do mass payments instead of having their members take a hit with fees. I'm not sure if I want to cash out through Amazon.com or not, I'd like to get the money I earned ... all of it.
What do you think about this? Are you more inclined to cash out through PayPal or Amazon? What do you think about the 2.5% fee that you are charged?

Socratic Forum has sent out their July newsletter. They announced the winners of the Member Referral Sweepstakes, congratulations to Palini G. and Nitin, K.! During this Member Referral Sweepstakes 10,000 new panelists have joined and the majority are participating in surveys and collecting their cash and prizes.

They will be sending me two packages of training pants for my son to test. Toluna Replaces Your2Cents

I was visiting another blog today and stumbled upon a posting stating that Your2Cents has been replaced by Toluna. I was aware that Toluna gained ownership of Your2Cents but I didn't know that they were just going to merge with their site too. It seems like they still have the new points system in place (30,000 points = $10 Cash), this being the case I hope their surveys improve as well.

I honestly really like the "new" members area, its more sleek looking and well organized. They show you the past payments you have received, all the surveys you have taken as well as the points earned for each survey. I think merging Your2Cents with Toluna seems like a good idea, at least the website is more visually appealing then the original Your2Cents. Of course I haven't taken any surveys yet or used the new website extensively.

Lightspeed has a new panel called Elite Opinion, if you are a member of Lightspeed you may have noticed a link to this new survey panel on their website. Elite Opinion is an elite business to business panel which will have influence in company decisions all over the world.

When you register you will need to fill out your basic info, email, name, postal address, birth date and create a password. You will also fill out a section about your occupation. After registering you will receive an email to varify your new account with Elite Opinion, click the link in the email. A 10 minute survey will be waiting for you in your members section.

Elite Opinon does have a referral program but they dont specify what the reward for referring your friends to their panel is. For each survey you complete you will earn 1000-1500 ELITEOpinion Points or $10-$15. You can redeem these points for cash, prizes and merchandise, they also have paypal as a payment option too!

BuzzBack Pays Via PayPal Now!

In early May I completed a survey from BuzzBack regarding the use of PayPal as a payment option. Around the middle of the month I received an email thanking me for completing the survey and that they enjoyed looking over the responses all the respondents gave. Ultimately they decided that they will be switching over to PayPal instead of checks. They believe it is a better option than check since payments will be safer for the environment, more secure, and less time consuming.

I honestly think this change is for the better, in the past it took about 4-6 weeks to receive my check for one survey. The day after I completed a survey from BuzzzBack I received payment via PayPal , when I saw the email stating that I had received a payment from BuzzBack I was excited. I know a lot of survey takers will agree that this payment method will be faster and more convenient, not only for the panelists but for BuzzBack as well. Your2Cents - More Rewards

Your2Cents listened to your opinions about profile surveys in the member area and have changed it so you are now rewarded for it. I'm sure the members who have been with Your2Cents remember completing those awfully long profile surveys and then you had to wait to get that $1 bonus until it was tied to a paid survey. Those days are over, they have but the feedback of their members into action. The profile surveys before were re-grouped into 15 shorter profiles, and they have added a couple more as well. For each profile you complete you will be awarded 300 points, when you complete all of your profile surveys you will be awarded with an additional 2,000 points. Your2Cents also stated there will be more changes in the summer, more ways to redeem your points ..... hopefully they are thinking about using PayPal. We will just have to wait and see.

I checked my account at Your2Cents and seen that these changes haven't taken place yet, or at least my account hasn't been effected. I did take all my profile surveys when i joined and have already received compensation for all of them, so maybe my profiles won't change because of this? Has anyone else seen a change in their profile section?

Springboard America & Zandl Group

I finally checked my email today, my apologies. Anyway, one of my readers, John, found a couple new survey sites that I wasn't aware of and emailed them to me. They are Zandl Group and Springboard America, both survey sites are run by well-respected research firms and are based in North America.

Springboard America's surveys will pay between $1 and $5, the only downfall to this survey site is that you will have to cash out in $50 increments via check. The members section of the site is nice and organized and gives you the following options: Home, My Participation History. Update My Profile, About My Survey Dollars, Support & FAQ's, About Us, as well as a chart showing your current balance, total earnings total redemption. All in all Springboard America's website is a well put together and the look of it is very modern and professional.

Zandl Group is based in New York and has an urban look to their website. this panel is currently only open to people ages 21-39, they personally recruite and pre-screen everyone who is interested in becoming a part of the panel. Zandl Group's surveys pay $1-$10 via PayPal. I have read in forums that people have been paid for completing their surveys, sounds like this one is a keeper.

I had never heard of this survey site before, but I thought I might as well join it since I am a member of ever other survey site out there. Ideal Opinions is in fact very new, practically only a few months old. My first reaction to this was that they may not be legit and are just another scam, but actually they owned and operated by Konesens Research. Knowing they are from a Market Research company defiantly made me feel better about joining and completing their surveys. Since Ideal Opinions is operated by Konesens Research, most of the surveys/studies will be directed from them although I am sure there will be a some that are hosted by other Market Research companies.

What I found really appealing about Ideal Opinions is that they pay via PayPal! Having PayPal as their main payment processor could really jump start their panelist database since tons of survey takers prefer it over other methods of payment. First I would like to apologize for not posting anything for the past couple weeks. I was out of town visiting family and didn't plan on staying as long as I did, but things came up and I had to stay little longer than expected. After returning, Pella was holding the Tulip Time Festival honoring their Dutch heritage. I spent some time going downtown with friends and trying all the different types of dutch food they had at all the food stands, went on a tour through the history of the town and then finally the parade. I was defiantly busy this past week, but it was fun. I hope all the mothers out there had a great time on Mothers Day!
