Socratic Forum has sent out their July newsletter. They announced the winners of the Member Referral Sweepstakes, congratulations to Palini G. and Nitin, K.! During this Member Referral Sweepstakes 10,000 new panelists have joined and the majority are participating in surveys and collecting their cash and prizes.
Also if you are a member of Socratic Forum they ask that you complete the July Member Flash Poll. This poll is only 3 questions long and will help them understand issues around potentially sensitive information that are sometimes collect in their surveys. I completed this poll and it was really fast and easy, so please take a minute to complete it.
On another note did you know that in the month of July panelists received $6,940 for participating in 13 different surveys and in the month of June received $12,523 for participating in 23 different surveys? Thats quite the amount of cash for taking surveys!
Look over the results from recent studies they have conducted:
Results From Recent Studies
Over the course of the past few months we've seen some results that you might find interesting:
Compared to a year ago, half or more of you spend less on:
Entertainment outside of the home (56%)
Leisure Travel (55%)
Home Electronics (51%)
Clothing for yourself (51%)
Business Travel (50%)
While only about a quarter of you are spending less on:
Green products (24%)
Groceries (26%)
Products for your pets (26%)
When managing your budget in the current economy, your kids are as important to you as your pets:
31% of you are not willing to cut back on clothing for your children
31% are not willing to cut back on products for your pets
Only 12% of you are not willing to cut back on clothing for yourselves
56% of you are not willing to cut back on groceries.
And finally, it's nice to know that 17% of you are not willing to cut back on your charitable donations, while only 10% of you are not willing to cut on what you spend on liquor

Nieto Research Training Pant Study
Nieto Research is now looking for participants for their training pant product test. I am glad to saw they called me yesterday and I qualified for the study. They will be sending me two packages of training pants for my son to test. If you have a son or daughter that is in the potty training stage this study would be great, you get free training poants for sharing your opinion! To see if you qualify for the study you can email them at: nietoresearchinc@aol(dot)com - In the email you should include the following: phone number, best time to reach you, your child's age and weight, and brand of training pants you buy most often.
Good Luck!
Nieto Research has another training pant study. If you missed our email last month, we are recruiting once again for size 3T/4T training pants. If your child does not qualify for this study, but you know of someone that does wear large training pants, please share our name and email address. It is a great opportunity to receive free training pants just for sharing your opinions on their performance.
Details are the same as the last month training pant study: We are currently seeking children in a specific weight range wearing size 3T/4T training pants. For this particular study, you will be sent two bags of training pants, (different brands). You will be required to record each usage, which usually takes less than 10 seconds per change. At the end of each bag, there is a short questionnaire for you to fill out, it will take less than 10 minutes to complete. At the end of the two week study you return your forms in the self addressed, stamped envelope. It's that easy! Because these tests fill quickly, we ask that you reply to this email immediately, please include your phone number, best time to reach you, your child's age and weight, and brand of training pants you buy most often. If you meet our needs, we will contact you within a few days. If we do not contact you, it is because either your child's weight does not meet our needs, or the study has been filled. At any rate, we will keep your information on file and contact you for the next study.
Be expecting additional emails with the next few weeks regarding baby diaper and baby wipe studies.
Thanks for being part of the Nieto Consumer Panel,
Michael

Toluna Replaces Your2Cents
I was visiting another blog today and stumbled upon a posting stating that Your2Cents has been replaced by Toluna. I was aware that Toluna gained ownership of Your2Cents but I didn't know that they were just going to merge with their site too. It seems like they still have the new points system in place (30,000 points = $10 Cash), this being the case I hope their surveys improve as well.
I honestly really like the "new" members area, its more sleek looking and well organized. They show you the past payments you have received, all the surveys you have taken as well as the points earned for each survey. I think merging Your2Cents with Toluna seems like a good idea, at least the website is more visually appealing then the original Your2Cents. Of course I haven't taken any surveys yet or used the new website extensively.
What do you think about this switch/merge?
Read the article below for more info/opinons about this change!

Product Test For Lactose Intolerant Sufferers
I hope everyone had a great time for 4th of July this year! Anyway, I received an email from BSM Media a couple days ago and thought I would share it since some of you may be lactose intolerant and qualify for this study.
Dear Participant,
Have you forgotten the great taste of fresh-from-the
dairy milk? For millions of lactose intolerant sufferers, the delicious taste of
milk has been muted by substitutes that taste too sweet, replaced with 'grainy'
soy products or just completely eliminated from their diets.
If you had the
opportunity to enjoy the real taste of milk without the unwanted side effects,
wouldn't you want to give it a try?
We know that lactose intolerance is
REAL: We understand the side effects it causes, that there are not good
'solutions' in the market and that some lactose intolerant consumers simply give
up milk and other dairy products altogether because they are dissatisfied with the
available brands.
You deserve the opportunity to experience the fresh taste
of milk. We would like to invite you to participate in a program to connect
lactose intolerant sufferers with a new brand of lactose free milk. Male and
female participants ranging between 25-54 years
old are welcome to participate. You must also reside in one of the following
cities: Boston MA, New York City (all 5 boroughs), Philadelphia PA, Syracuse NY, Albany NY or
Hartford CT.
During the next eight months, you will have the opportunity to
sample this new product, communicate online with other lactose intolerant
sufferers and experts, and share your experiences.
Please click HERE to complete a short evaluation
form. After completion and review, we will be in contact with you via email
within 3-4 weeks to confirm your participation. If you have any questions,
feel free to contact Valika@bsmmedia.com.
Warm regards,
Your friends at BSM Media
